I’m Paul DeTray. My wife, Melissa, and I — along with our dogs, Jack and Spirit — run DeTray Farms and Carolina Honey Exchange.
I got my start in beekeeping as a kid, helping my grandfather with his hives. That early experience stuck with me, and in 2022 I decided to turn my lifelong interest in bees into a business.
At DeTray Farms, I focus on raising healthy colonies and using sustainable practices that support the bees and the environment. Through Carolina Honey Exchange, I work to bring beekeepers and the community together by sharing knowledge, offering support, and providing quality honey and hive products.
At the heart of both businesses is a simple idea: when we take care of our pollinators, we strengthen our land, our food systems, and our communities.
