Adopt—A—Hive
The Adopt-a-Hive program at DeTray Farms allows you to play a direct role in supporting honeybee health and pollination in our community. When you adopt a hive, you’re not just helping bees—you’re sustaining local agriculture and protecting biodiversity. As part of your adoption, you’ll receive seasonal updates on your hive’s progress, a share of the honey (when available), and invitations to our Apiary Days, where you can join us in the bee yard to experience hive management firsthand.
Program Terms
At DeTray Farms, we provide full care for your adopted hive within our working apiary. Because bees are living creatures, hive survival and honey production cannot be guaranteed.
- Hive Survival: If a hive fails, it will be replaced with another active colony for the remainder of your adoption term.
- Honey Allotments: Honey yields vary each season. We will make every effort to fulfill your share, but exact amounts cannot be guaranteed.
- Adoption Fees: All fees are non-refundable and cover equipment, bees, maintenance, and beekeeper care.
- Duration: Each adoption lasts for the term of your chosen sponsorship level.
